Regal Botanica has been serving the Australian TCM community since 1997, committed to providing high-quality, safe Chinese herbal products to local practitioners and their patients.

We first introduced our Chinese herbal products to the RMIT Chinese Medicine Teaching Clinic in 2001, establishing a partnership that we have proudly maintained ever since.

In 2013, we further strengthened our commitment to quality by upgrading our product range and becoming the Sole Agent in Australia for Sheng Chang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. With a heritage spanning 80 years, Sheng Chang is Taiwan’s No. 1 Chinese medicine brand exported to Japan, renowned for its commitment to quality and excellence.

Established in 1946, Sheng Chang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. is one of Taiwan’s pioneers in concentrated Chinese herbal medicine manufacturing, with its factory in operation since 1966.

Significant Milestones in Sheng Chang’s History

• 1946 – Sheng Chang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. was established in Taiwan.
• 1966 – Commenced Zhonghe factory operations.
• 1975 – Awarded Medicinal Importation Permit from Japan’s Ministry of Welfare.
• 1986 – The first manufacturer of Chinese medicine to comply with GMP Manufacturing Standards.
• 1994 – Successfully passed the GMP audit by Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).
• 2002 – Received the Prize of National Medical Technology Research and Development for CMC (Chemical, Manufacture and Control) of Liu Wei Di Huang Wan (Rehmannia Six Formula).
• 2004 – Received the National Medical Technology Research and Development Award for its Chinese herbal formula fingerprinting platform.
• 2006 – Obtained certification of ISO 9001:2000 international standard quality management system.
• 2008 – Obtained TAF ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory certification.  Received accreditation certificate of foreign drug manufacturer from Japan’s Ministry of Health Labour and Welfare.
• 2010 – Obtained TFDA Drug Cosmetic Certification.
• 2011 – Successfully passed both TAF and TFDA on-site evaluation.
• 2012 – Obtained TFDA Food Hygiene Inspection Agency Certification.  
• 2013 – Received accreditation certificate of foreign drug manufacturer from Japan’s Ministry of Health Labour and Welfare.
• 2018 – Successfully passed the PIC/S GMP inspection conducted by Japan’s Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA).
• 2019 – Successfully passed FDA on-site evaluation.
• 2021 – Became the first Chinese herbal medicine manufacturer in Taiwan to pass all three stages of comprehensive validation audits conducted by Taiwan’s Ministry of Health and Welfare.  
• 2023 – Successfully passed the PIC/S GMP inspection conducted by Japan’s Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA) again.
